School is almost out

Well, today is the third-to-last day of school. On Thursday the school year will be complete. I am looking forward to wrapping everything up and completing what has been a good school year. But, it is always difficult to let a class go. Students: What are your feelings on the end of the school year and the upcoming summer break?

Hi! It's me Jacob. I just wanted to know if you're going on any hikes or visiting any parks in Austrailia. And here's a helpful tip: Don't end up like Barf Bag and watch out for rattlers!

So are you any bit nervous about going to Australia? Oh, and I agree with Jacob H. Watch out rattlers!

Will you miss your salt water tank?
Bye, the way Aslan says hi too!

Hi. It's me Sarah. I hope you have a great summer in Australia. I will try to keep you updated with Frane and England as long as you keep me updated with Austrailia.

Watch out for the huge spiders! they can kill you!

Hi, it's Halee Rae im excited about the end of the year and the new school year. I heard in Australia the toilet water swirls down the opposite way. Here it is counter-clockwise. Will you check which way it is in Australia?2:50pm

I feel excited but sad. I will miss Ruth and Sara. At the same time, there's no homework, the pool is open, and I can play a lot.

Hey, mr. Heiden are you looking forward to summer? I am! How long do you think the plane trip will be? When you get there get a map or get lost in a desert like Zero. Well, if there are any deserts.

2:53 is the time that it was in Australia when I sent the message. 2:50pm is when i sent the longer message. The clock on this website is a little bit fast.

At 7:42 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oops! It was am not pm. Right now it is 2:37pm in Australia.

At 7:45 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Acording to my research the clock on this website is exactly 5 minutes fast.

I don't know for sure yet about hikes, but I am sure we will when we are in the outback! And, I do hope to avoid the many snakes that are in Australia.

Caroline/Aslan, I do already miss my tank because I took it down and sold the contents to other local reef tank owners. But, I am enjoying not having to worry about it. That is a load off of me every day!

Yes, HaleeRae, I am excited about see the water swirl the other way. Does any remember the name of the effect that causes that (and may other things)?

Lexi, I hear you about summer being fun, but missing friends. You are sure to see them at least some this summer though.

Alex, I think the plane ride is something like 15 hours. But, on the way there we are stopping in Hawaii for two days, so it will break-up the flight a little bit. On the way back though it will be a marathon 40+ hour trip from Sydney to Indianapolis. Then, I leave the next morning early for NYC....

And, HaleeRae, nice work on the time zone differences. I believe Sydney is 14 hours ahead of us. Other parts of Australia are different, just like California is on a different time than are we.

I know the answer is the coriolas effect!

At 5:17 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It is the coriolas effect, and Ruth might be going to China

At 6:32 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

At 6:35 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you go to the zoo make sure to see the tasmanian devil and the horned lizard frilled neck lizard. There is sometimes fire works over the lake. We went there and waited for a coupie of hours and then we went home because they were canceled. be sure to go to the amuesment park.

Wow! Thank you all for posting some great comments. Emma (from next year's class), it is good to see that you are working on the blog already.

Hannah: You'll do very well at FCI next school year. Just don't let the teacher see your pencil grip! I do update this from time to time, but not always at a certain time.

HaleeRae: I'm sure we will see
each other again sometime. You do still live in town!

Again, thanks for all of your replies...keep watching the blog.

Good points Lexi...I am thinking about buying a disposible underwater camera. My digital camera has an underwater casing that you can buy, but it is really expensive. So, I think I'll just buy the cheap disposible camera!
