I am a third grade gifted and talented teacher at Brooks School Elementary (Hamilton Southeastern Schools) in Fishers, Indiana. I was fortunate to have been chosen to receive a Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad scholarship to travel and study the ancient, delicate, and unique environment in Australia from June 14th - July 15th of 2006. This blog will be updated regularly for my students, family, colleagues, and friends during my trip.
I just found out today via email that I received a Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad scholarship for this summer. I don't know yet where my trip will be going, but it will be to one of the following locations: Australia, Thailand/Vietnam, or Mali/Morocco. I am to hear specifics on my trip via mail sometime this week. Needless to say, I am excited to get the chance to travel this summer.

How did you get to go to Austalia? Did you do the test again??? Actually how did you even get to go to Japan?
Hi Hannah. I applied for the scholarships for these trips through the agencies that administer the trips. The JFMF and IIE administer the Japan trip and the US Dept. of Education adminsiters the Australia trip. I just heard about the trips from other teachers, went to the websites, and did the work of applying for the scholarships. It took some time, but the end result was worth it.
